Week 51: The Great Outdoors and Busy Times Ahead

We have been spending a lot of time outdoors as a family, especially lately with the warmer weather and daylight savings. It is great. It feels like we have more time together during the day. Yes, the "winding down" time at night after Micah goes to bed seems shorter, many times like right now, I look at the clock and can't believe it is 10.30pm already when I should really be in bed by 10pm, but it is great to be able to spend more time together as a family as Micah doesn't need to go to bed until 8pm so that's plenty of time together with dad when he gets back from work.

Hubby loves to take Micah out for a play in the grass, and Micah loves to laugh whenever we tickle him with grass or whenever Cookie our bunny rabbit happens to hop past.

The three of us would also often go out for walks after dinner, just before bath time. Today we walked to a park and let Micah go on the swing for the first time. He absolutely loved it! Such a happy boy who brings so much joy to our hearts :)

The coming weeks are extremely busy, as we have all of Micah's friends' 1st birthday parties to go to. I also have a baby shower to attend, a music team dinner, we're going to hubby's work Christmas party (it will be held at the Melbourne Zoo so I'm very excited because it's not only Micah's first trip to the zoo it's also MY first trip to the Melbourne Zoo!) and of course we're having family over for Micah's 1st birthday, hubby and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary (oh I really need to book the restaurant!) and I'm celebrating my birthday just with a few friends, and I have a couple of photo shoots scheduled just before Christmas, a few catch ups with friends, and of course... Christmas! This month will go by really quick and then we have to start planning and packing for our big trip to Malaysia!! Oh, Micah's passport arrived today it's so cute that my little man has a passport! So we are all set to go.. yayyy!!

Week 50: A Series of Photos with Captions

I would very often take photos of my phone and update them on Facebook straight away, but for those who may have missed some of those updates, here are some photos taken recently with captions:

Micah all fresh and ready for bed in his cute PJs
My little man is turning 1 in less than 3 weeks!
Love watching him sleep...
In his new travel stroller. We got this for our trip to Malaysia, he can sit in this stroller all the way to the plane and it folds up and fits into a backpack that would fit in the overhead compartment of the airplane. Also convenient to take him out and about when in Malaysia!
Lunch date with Issi
Mummy's little boy :)
Grocery shopping with mum
Future musician
Spending time with dad
Always happy and smiling when it's food time

Week 49: Chicken Eating Machine

I just realised I almost missed a whole week of blogging on here, and this cannot happen! So I'm just going to post quickly just so I haven't missed a week! Just a little silly post.. I gave Micah a whole chicken drumstick this week for the first time and he absolutely loved it and devoured the whole thing! Photos below to prove it...

Is this how I'm supposed to eat this mum?

Mmmm... yummy chicken!

Clap clap! Bravo mum that was delicious!
He also currently loves eating a hard boiled egg (I eat most of the egg yolk as that's the high cholesterol bit) and he absolutely lovesssss grilled mushrooms. He doesn't seem to mind the chewy texture of mushrooms! Loves them just like his mummy and daddy yayy!!

Ok and here's a few latest YouTube vids of him being super entertaining, laughing, playing keyboard, singing, and walking! Enjoy :-)

Week 48: Clapping and Stacking

I just wanted to go on the record (after all this blog is all about Micah's development milestones, etc) that Micah at 10 and a half months learnt how to clap and stack, hehe.

We started letting Micah play with Mega Bloks about a week ago, and already he knows how to stack. Now I just wonder if he would've stacked a lot sooner if we let him play with them sooner!!

I shall carefully place this here....
Tada! Look mum! *smiles of satisfaction*
I can stack!
In other news, Micah and I took a drive all the way into the city today to pick up some Kolo Mee. My Facebook friends would know all about my obsession... but really it's just me catching up to 7 years of being deprived of my childhood hawker favourite food... and now that Melbourne finally sells Kolo Mee (read my review on Kimba's Kitchen here for more details) I am deprived no more! Annoying that it is all the way in the city but better than nothing!!
Micah excited to be at Kitchen Inn today to pick up more Kolo Mee because just like his mummy and daddy, he lovesssss Kolo Mee!
Well, summer is approaching quickly and the weather is getting warmer and warmer so Micah got to play in his cubby house a lot more these days, and he is lovin' it!

I think that's all for now.... 47 days until Christmas!

A Small Beginning...

As many of you know, I have been taking photos of my son Micah (now 10 months old) ever since he was born. A few months ago, I've decided to extend my photo taking services to friends and their bubs for free. I wanted to gain the experience and maybe get some exposure as they show off their bubs' photos to their friends.

This week, I've decided I was ready to take the plunge and go beyond my friends support and start charging a small fee for my photography services.

It is a small start - but I don't plan to make a profit, it is merely to compensate my time and efforts.

I love working with babies, capturing their vulnerability and cheeky nature at that beautiful young age.

As a marketing person, yes I could've gone all out and set up a marketing campaign with online ads, flyers, etc. But I am happy to keep it small right now, to just word of mouth and friends referring friends. Hopefully as I gain more clients, they will tell their friends too. After all, I wouldn't want some random person getting a flyer in the mail ringing up and asking for my home address (where I do my photo shoots)... a little bit scary and dangerous!

So here's to my little venture - I am happy to say I have already booked my first paid client - so excited yet nervous at the same time!

I just want to do a good job and make those parents proud to show off their babies' photos just like how Micah's photos always make me proud to be his mum :-)
